Fun with cousin Wes!!

Ryan and Wes love to play with each other. We have a room connected to Rick's suite which is connected to Todd And Terriann's room. Everyday Wes and Ryan go back and forth from room to room and play. Yes, they do have problems with sharing and a little hitting and pushing, but that doesn't matter, every time they see each other it's like they haven't seen each other in a month when usually it's only been hours. They make sure to give each other lots of hugs and kisses to make up for the fighting. It's been fun to see them play and have so much fun. It's pretty cute, we will be in our room with the door shut but cracked a little and in walk Wes "Hi" It's been fun to see Wes more since we have been here. We don't get to see him as much at home cause we don't live two doors away. What fun times these are to have these little sweet boys!

The many faces of Ryan

Ryan got in the chair and said "cheese", he wanted me to video tape him so he could watch himself.

Terriann and Mary did the 5-K too. Both of them did really good. They both got better times than they were expecting to get. I'm glad we all did it together.

5-K Bridge Run

After not running for a couple of months I just ran a 5-K. I pulled my hamstring about a year ago and I think it shortened when it healed so some days it would hurt to just walk let alone run. Anyway it finally dawned on me that maybe massaging it would help. It did and now I can run again. I'm still not fully recovered but at least I can run. I'm a lot slower now and I can't go for very long runs yet. I'm hoping to be able enjoy my runs like I used to. I guess I took it for granted that I could run so much and so long and not hurt. I miss that feeling of going out and running where ever I wanted and however long I wanted. I love the feeling of a good run!
I loved running this 5-k. I was planning on not competing, but knowing myself and how competitive I am I thought that I might change my mind if I wasn't hurting. The Thursday before the race I couldn't even walk so I was a little worried, but after getting a massage I felt a little better. So Saturday a little into the race I decided that I felt pretty good so I started racing. I was tired but I didn't let anyone pass me. Well that is till the very end. They didn't tell me to turn at the very end so a girl passed me and I took third place overall out of the women instead of second. I was one second behind her. I was happy with my time for not running or training, now I just want to run more. I love the race atmosphere and the feeling after running a good race. Nate always comes to my races even though it's usually cold and early. I'm so glad he comes to cheer me on. It makes me happy to have him there.

Twirly Skirt

I finally sewed something! I don't think I have sewn anything since high school. I was not confident in picking out fabric, that would look good together, but I liked how it turned out. It helped that there was a limited amount of fabric to choose from too. Terriann told me what to do step by step so I didn't have to figure out a pattern or guess about anything. I'm giving it to a girl at church for her Young Womens project. She is collecting skirts and dresses for girls and women who don't have them. I hope whoever gets it likes it.

Playing in the sand.
He's not so sure about the sand right now. I don't think he likes the feeling of it on his hands. I was playing in it more than he was just trying to get him to play in it. He also likes to chase after the seagulls and see them run and fly.

Fun at the BEACH

Posted by Picasa
Fun at the beach in Hilton Head! It is still nice and warm here so we get to enjoy being outside a lot. We get to go to the beach, take walks, and go on bike rides. Ryan loves to be outside every chance he gets. He loves seeing animals and the moon at night. He's been saying "moon" for a while now , but last night he surprised me by saying "star" as he pointed to one. He is always surprising me with how much he knows and understands.
We are so blessed with such a sweet loving little boy!
Ryan loves candy! This is at the end of the night. He is still running and excited from all the fun he had with his cousins.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Practicing saying "Trick or Treat"
Posted by Picasa
It didn't take any bribing to get his costume on this time. He knew he was going out to get candy. Sometimes Ryan was running up to the door to get candy. All three boys would knock on the door and either say "candy" or "trick or treat" . Ryan would try and get as much candy as he could. After he would get a piece he would reach in for more and then stick it in his mouth and try and bite through the wrapper. I would quickly grab the candy out of his mouth and stick another piece in his mouth without the wrapper. It was a lot of fun and the boys were so cute.
Thursday before we went trick or treating he said trick or treat once while I was putting him in the car, and then once while we were out and about, but he was to shy to say it anymore. By Saturday on Halloween he was saying it really good.

THANK YOU AUNT TERRIANN FOR MY CAPE!

Thursday we took all three boys out to trick or treat at a shopping center here on HHI. I had to bribe Ryan with candy to put his cape on. Aunt Terriann made his cape and did a really good job. After going to a few shops and getting candy Ryan knew what was going on and thought it was great. We had a lot of fun and the boys loved it.

Now that we live in Fordland Ryan gets to see his cousin Matthew a lot more. They have so much fun together. It was fun watching them play pac man. They kept say "Uh Oh" and "Oh No" because they kept dieing. I'm sure they will be pros at the game soon enough.

Our Road Trip to PA and NY.
We spent two nights and a day at Sara and Jake's. It was fun to see them again even though they were just barely in MO for Stacy's wedding. Sara and the kids went with us to the Hershey Factory and then on to Gettysburg.
The first picture is of Nathan and Elizabeth looking around at Gettysburg. It was amazing to see how much battleground there was and how many thousands lost there lives. We climbed a big tower to see out across all the battlefields. Nate carried Ryan, and Elizabeth climbed the whole thing by herself. Yes, my quads were sore the next day. I wonder if little Elizabeth was sore at all.
